Dear Jellybean,
I have no idea how to talk to my parents about dating. Before when I have tried, they usually say that it's just too much headache to have a boyfriend and that I don't need that right now.
I don't know how to bring up the subject, I'm too nervous. I'm just sure they'll say that I should wait till university or that I have to concentrate on school. But, I just wish I could have someone. I look at all these couples everywhere and start to get lonely. I want to be like them.
I am very responsible and my parents both know that. And all I want is to go out to the movies with a guy I like and hang out. If my parents wanted to, one of them could supervise us if they felt the need to. So, all I want is some experience in dating.
I would never take a relationship too far but I don't know how to talk to my parents about this. My parents would probably try to change the subject. How do I ask them?
