Dear Jellybean,
My boyfriend of 4 months is pretty much the perfect guy for me, and I really like him. Unfortunately, my mom doesn't really like him all that much, but I'm not sure why...
She just kind of has that motherly "I don't want my 16 year old daughter to have a boyfriend" thing I suppose, which I don't blame her for at all, because we both know how many guys are. But my boyfriend is not that way at all, he's really sweet and nice, and shy around my parents and it's adorable.More recently I stupidly allowed myself to get a hickey which is another reason for my mom to dislike him even more and now she thinks we're having sex, when is definitely not the case, and she yelled at me and told me that I can't go over to his house and he can't come over, which leaves me not many ways to see him since we both don’t drive.
I'm wondering if it’s gonna blow over or something. Should I just wait it out and kinda take some time off from trying to see him so my mom cools off? Or talk to her, but what do I say? But keep in mind that she usually doesn't listen when I try to talk to her, and she'll talk over me so I can’t get a word in. I also don't want her to hate him forever since I can see being with him for a while. Advice pleaaassse?
