Dear Jellybean,My parents are really strict and they hardly let me do anything fun with my life. They say things like, "When you get better grades then you can go out." I just feel like they are just making up excuses to not let me go.
I mean I have been doing so much better this year compared to last year. They worry too much. They don’t want me to grow up so fast. A week ago I got grounded for a month for arguing with my mom and in 3 weeks from now I’m having a homecoming dance, and I really want to go. I’ve asked my mom if I can go and her response has always been "maybe" but now that I got in trouble for missing the bus in the morning her answer is no.
There was no way I was going catch the bus that morning, she thinks I meant to. But ever since that I can’t go to the homecoming. Now she is saying that she is only doing this so I can learn from what I did wrong, but it don’t take me that long to comprehend what I did wrong. I remember I apologized that day as soon as I realize what I did. I really don’t know what to do; I would do anything to go to the homecoming. But I don’t know how to convince my parents to let me do so.
