Dear Jellybean,
I'm an 18 year old girl, and I am absolutely petrified by the concept of driving. Most of my friends are now driving around in their own cars and having the time of their lives. When I was 17, I took a teen driving class, but the multitude of videos showing car crashes must have done something to my psyche to put me off of driving. Also, one of my driving instructors was very rude and condescending to me when I was driving. Now I can't get into the driver's seat without having a panic attack. I feel like any mistake I make will kill me, my passengers, or my fellow drivers.
It's not that I don't WANT to drive. I'd love nothing more than to take another burden off of my parents' shoulders, but I can't get over my intense fear of driving. Do you have any advice for me to overcome my irrational fear? I want to find some pleasure in driving like most teenagers do.
Very much appreciated,
Rachael
