PREPARE YOUR DESK
A good place to study can make all the difference!
Having a well-organized desk that motivates you to work well can actually have a big impact on your grades!
You need to make your desk a place where you can concentrate and focus. That means a desk with nothing on it except what you need for the particular project or homework you are going to do there. Move everything else (stuffed animals, photos, jewelry, candles, magazines, etc) out of the way. You want to concentrate on one thing: studying.
Here is what you should have on your desk:
Your assignment notebook/binder
Solid flat surface for writing
Good lighting (not too bright, not too dim)
Chair you can sit upright in comfortably
Textbooks/reference books/research materials
Supplies (pen, pencil, eraser, white-out, markers, ruler, stapler, post-it notes, csissors, calculator, protrater, compass, etc)
Clock (to help you manage your time)
Computer
If you wear glasses, put them on!
Eliminate all distractions
Put on music if it makes you study better, or shut the door if you study best in quiet.
Hint: listenting to soft classical music makes you learn and remember better!
Turn off the TV
