Dear Writer,
Yikes. It's true... patchy brows can seriously damage your look. But don't fret, I've got tips for you to fake great brows until the real ones grow back. And for goodness sake, don't ever let your friends near your eyebrows again!
Buy an eyebrow pencil (available in drugstore beauty aisles) in the exact same shade as your natural brow color. Don't be tempted to buy a color that's a bit darker - you'll just end up looking scary.
Using a clean, new toothbrush or a clear mascara brush that's been wiped clean of makeup with a tissue, brush your brows downward.
Make sure your eyebrow pencil is nice and sharp to create a fine line. Use it to draw a line along the upper edge of your brow, to define the brow's arch. Try to make the shape as natural as possible and don't draw the line too heavily. You're trying to make it blend in, not stand out. Shaping hint: brows tend to naturally reach their highest arch in line with the outer edge of your pupil.
Using your toothbrush or mascara brush again, comb your brows outward and upward. Blend the brow pencil line to soften it a bit.
For added fullness, use a short, slanted makeup brush to dust eye shadow into the hairs of your brows. (The shadow should be the exact shade as your natural brow hair). Use short, gentle strokes to apply the powder. The goal is to try to fake individual hairs, not a solid block of color. Tip: Only apply powder to the insides of brows where they are patchy. Do NOT add to the top or bottom of brows, or they will look unnatural and possibly freaky.
Brush your brows upward and outward again, blending the shadow in and filling in any sparse patches you might have missed.
Using your index fingers, dab a tiny blob of hair gel on each eyebrow and smooth them into place. This will set the shape and keep the color set all day long (as long as you don't take a shower).
