Dear Jellybean,
I am planning to have a pool party this summer. I am so excited about it! There is just one big problem. All of my friends don't get along. I am going to invite all of my friends but they all probably wont talk to each other!
So i dont know what to do. I need a way that everyone will get along for just one night! Please help me!!!
Dear Writer,
Since all your friends don't get along, you can avoid pool-party drama by breaking up the party space, so everyone isn't crowded together into one area.
Do this by setting up different activity "stations" around the pool area. You could have a games table (a patio table, a few chairs and some fun board games), a couple of separate areas with chairs for sitting (so people can take their food/beverages from the buffet table and sit in different groups, without having to move the furniture around), and so on.
You can also split up the food tables into "food stations", a trick that's often used at Hollywood parties. This is about making the food a fun activity, as well as sustenance, and keeping people moving throughout the space. You could have a make-your-own-tacoes (or fajitas) station with all the fixings, a make-your-own salad bar table, and so on.
A final tip - you might want to have a word with all your friends, before the party, to promote peace. Let all your friends know that you're inviting them because they're awesome, and you want to have an awesome time at your own party. Ask them to "play nice" so that can happen. After all, you're putting a lot of effort into making a fun time for everyone. The least they can do is behave themselves for a few hours.
