Dear Mae,
Confront your friend when you two are alone, and tell her how her behavior is upsetting you. Explain that she might think it's funny, but it really makes you feel bad, and you hope she would never want to make you feel that way on purpose. Hopefully, she will get the message, and stop sharing the news with everyone she meets.
For your part, try to realize that everyone makes mistakes, and you are not defined by yours. So you dated a jerk - that doesn't mean you're a jerk, just that you picked the wrong guy. You're a different person today than you were then. Trust that people can figure that out, and don't let your dating record embarrass you.
After all, we girls have to kiss a few frogs before we can find out prince, right? You can even use that line to joke away the embarrassment, when somebody learns that you dated this guy. Onward and upward!
