Dear Writer,
I think you answered your own question in your letter to me. When people ask why you're friends with her, just tell them, "Becuase she's a good friend and a really nice person." You might also add, "If you got to know her better, I think you'd like her too." Then invite your friend to join you, when you're interacting with your other friends, and give her confidence by telling her that your other buds are excited to meet her and get to know her. You'll be doing her a great favor, and solving your problem, in one fell swoop.
