Dear Jellybean,
You need to help me. I have this one friend who is really smart. I am smart too. The problem is, her level of intelligence is mastery or greater compared to mine. All of my other friends say, “She’s such a genius-she’s good at everything.” I am sooo sick of hearing this!
Any time her name comes up in the conversation, it’s always, “She’s naturally good at everything!” This lowers my self-esteem. In class, it seems like she’s showing off, but I know she’s not doing it on purpose. To top it off, the guy I like is my class, who seems to like me, but it makes me look dumb! Almost like an idiot! The teacher hates me, and uses her for a great example everyday!
My friend is in all AP Classes (2) and I'm only in 1. I’ve talked to her about it before, but she just said, “I’m just following directions.” I don’t know what to do! I feel like I’m not good at anything! Please help, I don’t want to sulk in my own solitude forever. How can I become good at something?
