Take the high road. It's the more difficult path, but it will lead to a better destination in the end. This girl sounds semi-evil, and everyone is going to notice that sooner or later. They will see it sooner, if by comparison you are nothing but sweetness-and-light. So don't gossip about this girl, don't start rumors, and if you can stomach it, "kill her with kindness" by being really nice to her and refusing to get dragged into a catfight. If you keep this up, and she keeps acting mean, people won't be oblivious for long - and you'll wind up looking like the "good one", while she will look bad. You win!
