Dear Torn,
I've been there! You've probably told your BFF everything bad your boyfriend ever did/said to you, so of course she hates him. She loves you and is loyal to you, and her protective instincts are telling her that you must be rescued from this cad.
You created this situation in a way, so don't push your friend too hard to accept and like your guy. If he treats you well, she will eventually notice that and accept that he has changed, and things are good between you. She will probably have to come to that conclusion on her own, though, If you push her too hard, it will probably just cause problems in your friendship, and you don't want that.
You can be with him, and be friends with her, without him and her hanging out, or even liking each other. Just be sure to fill in your friend, in a casual (not trying-to-convince-her) way, when your guy does something really thoughtful, kind, or sweet for you. You can say something like, "You know, he has really changed. He's a good guy now, and I think one day you're going to accept that." But do no more pushing than that.
Also be sure to keep making time to hang out with your BFF, just the girls, with no boyfriends involved, because she still deserves your undivided attention sometimes. Keep that up, play it cool, letting everyone have their own feelings, and eventually she will likely come around of her own accord.
