Do you ever get the feeling that your guy sometimes says one thing, but means another? In some cases, you're probably right.
Check out these real meanings behind some of the things guys say.
HE SAYS: "I'll call you soon."
HE MEANS: "I might call you." If he's really into you, then yes, he will phone.. But the fact is, guys often say this even if they don't intend to ever call you!
Why would a guy say he'd get in touch if he knows he won't? The fact is, most guys don't like confrontation, at least when it comes to girls. They'll give you the old "I'll call you" line just to make an easy getaway, or prevent an awkward moment.
They figure it's easier to tell you what you want to hear, because they don't want to see you upset. (The fact that you end up waiting by the phone for a call that never comes, doesn't seem to cross their minds!)
So how can you tell if he really means it? If he gives you a definite time frame, like "I'll call you Monday night after dinner" then he probably means it.
HE SAYS: "Hi, it's Justin, I um... wondered if you know what our History assignment is?"
HE MEANS: "I like you as more than a friend." If a guy calls you "out of the blue", you can bet that it's no random call. He probably planned it and even practiced what he was going to say, because he's interested in getting with you.
He's nervous about asking you out, but he wanted to talk to you and scope out what kind of chances he might have. So he calls to check out how friendly you are and see if things lead to making a date.
