    Indie music

The only music I've heard that makes me think "indie" is
    Tegan and Sara
    The Format
    Josh Kelley

Anyone want to recommend me some true indie music?
Or some music that sounds similar to these artists? lol

The decemberists. Although they just signed to capitol so maybe they aren't indie anymore? If you want to know what's popular just go on consequence of sound or pitchfork and look at their top reviews/news.

I think you'd like Savoir Adore. I've been on a SA binge lately, hahaha. They're pretty indie, not very well known.

I 3rd The Postal Service, I love them.

If you like them, Owl City sadly sounds just like them.

FreakonaLeash already posted like... all of them haha but I really want to emphasize The Shins. They are one of my favorite bands. Check out their song Caring is Creepy, too.
As for stuff no one has mentioned yet,

    Neutral Milk Hotel
    The New Pornographers
    Phoenix
    Avi Buffalo
    Beach House
    Blitzen Trapper
    Bon Iver
    The Flaming Lips
    Yuck
Cloud Cult - They're a band from Minnesota (where I'm from) and they are absolutely amazing and it always astounds me how almost no one outside of Minnesota knows they exist. They deserve more fans.
Some of my favorite songs by them:

I recently discovered The new pornographers, they are awesome!
Also, yes, I second the look into the Shins. They are probably one of my favorite bands as far as indie goes.
Also also, Listened to what you posted of cloud cult, I like!

The Hold Steady. The singer is terrible at singing (he basically talks) but somehow it fits with the music haha
