I have the sims 3 and a few expansion packs thats i got off a torrent on my laptop. my mom just bought me the sims 3 pets and im wondering if it will work since i don't have the cd's to the main game?

It should. It's not like you'll need the disc for The Sims 3 in order to install Pets, and once Pets is installed you'll need to use the Pets disc to play anyway whether you own the disc for The Sims 3 or not.
