I know i have clinical depression i was on drugs for it and i runs in the family but i hated it so much i told my parents i didn't want to take the medicine or go to the appointments anymore and they said it was ok cause it wasn't that major i still don't wanna go back but its getting worse i've been reading a book and i have so many symptoms from so many kinds or depression and related dissorders and i don't know what to do i don't wanna tell my parents or go back and i don't wanna worry my friends because everyone is going through some hard times and i don't know where to turn thanks for at least listening i hope you know what to do.

Dear Writer,

Not taking medicine for depression is as silly as not taking cough medicine when you have a cough. If you are feeling bad - in your body OR your head - you should take the medication doctors give you to get better!!! Listen sweetie, I really feel for you. So listen to me, 'cause I want you to feel better: 1) Stop self-diagnosing yourself. You're not a doctor and reading books about various syndromes will just make you overwhelmed and confused. 2) Go back to getting treatment. It's hard and frustrating, but being stuck with life-long depression would be worse. You CAN be happier... but you have to LET people help you. 3) Stop turning your back on help! People want to help you, but you have to let them. Talk to your parents and tell them you want to get better. Then go back to treatment. GOOD LUCK.
