Dear Jellybean,

My mom doesn't like metal music. Which is my total favorite. I told her that I liked metal hardcore (screamo) music and now she says that I shouldn't listen to it, and she doesn't want to to listen to it.

Well my Mom is the classic music type. She likes Aerosmith, Eagles, and stuff like that. And my Dad doesn't know that I listen to it, but he really hates that kind of music too, and when my Mom listens to it, he will hate it too. And this is the only music that I really like and understand. The lyrics are meaningful unlike a whole bunch of junk these days. It just makes me really mad that I probably won't be able to listen to it anymore! And on top of that, this guy who is like my best guy friend has a metal screamo band and I can't go and see them. I have a friend who is eighteen and she loves me to death because I love that music, and she jokingly offered to adopt me. (it was really funny!) And she offered to take me anytime with my friend, but my parents really won't go for it. I wanna be able to listen to the type of music that I love, not classical rock and pop, or rap, i mean i like rock (ie: Three Days Grace, Daughtry). But she doesn't understand that I like my own music and I wanna be able to keep it that way. WHat should I do if she wants me to stop listening to my music?
