Dear Jellybean,
So next year I’ll be in high school, and the school starts at 7:30, which means I’d have to get up earlier than 6:00 in order to shower in the morning. I think it would probably be better to shower at night to give me more time in the mornings, but I don’t know what to do about my hair! It looks good if I take time to blow dry it and all that, but if I wake up in the morning without washing it, it won’t look very nice. What can I do to so that I can make my hair look ok without shampooing and conditioning in the morning? Thanks!

Dear Not a Morning Person,
A nighttime shower seems to be your best bet, so you don't have to wake up before the birds. My suggestion is, when you get into the shower in the evening, apply any conditioning product first, and let it soak in while you scrub and shave, etc. Give hair a good rinse, and THEN shampoo it. This will ensure that excess conditioner doesn't make hair greasy overnight. Blow-dry hair before going to bed, being sure to get it very dry. (Any excess moisture will just turn your hair frizzy when it hits the pillow). Give hair a good blast of cold air from your dryer to "set" it at the end of your blow-dry.
You can sleep with hair loose, or use a ribbon to tie it into a loose ponytail for sleeping. (Make sure not to use an elastic, or pull hair too tight, to prevent the risk of breakage).
In the morning, brush or finger-comb your hair, and apply some smoothing balm (or other favorite finishing product) to pat down flyaways and make it look great. If hair looks wonky some mornings, you can always pop in a cute barrette or hair pin, or do the trusty ponytail thing too.
